BASI Pilates Australia Heads to BASI HQ

June 26, 2018

By Jordanna Smith

June 2018 has been an extremely fast and fulling month of travel, visiting our favorite place for work and family fun. There could be no other job that allows you to travel with your family, teach in a studio environment that feels like you are still at home, meet new people from all over the world and of course be welcomed each and everytime with open arms.

BASI HQ does just that! Rael, Stella, Veronika, Kristen, Latoya, Tram and the whole team at BASI HQ make our trips over to America from Australia so enticing. We are just spoiled! This year Shayne had the amazing opportunity to assist Rael in the Mentor program, along with presenting his newest workshop ‘Gait and its common deviations’. Stepping into the new BASI Pilates Studio is so breathtakingly beautiful, I am sure all those who have had the opportunity to visit the new headquarters already, can honestly say it really is the new home. It is the one place we all come for the same reason, to learn, to listen, to reconnect, and to reignite the flame again. Leaving our Pilates studio back home and stepping straight into another…honestly feels like it’s our home away from home.

It was incredibly exciting to teach in the studio for the first time, but even more so to be on the receiving end as a ‘student’ myself taking a few long awaited private sessions from two of the main women we must call the resident ‘Wunda women’ ~ Jennifer and Stella. These were a precious few hours, not only just for me but also to keep my teaching skills and work practices up to date as a facilitator for BASI Pilates ~ ‘My legs are still shaking ladies’

This trip was very different this year throwing a 2 and a half year old toddler into the mix. It sure tested myself and Shayne’s abilities to juggle work, travel and parenting into 12 fun filled days and nights. Little Ashley-Cooper is well and truly apart of this BASI journey as much as we are now. It’s obvious Rael is ready for grandchildren … him and Ashely shared an incredible bond.

Our last two days was not complete without some family time visiting the magical world of Disneyland before heading back to our families and Pilates studio back in Australia

Till next year… we can’t wait for Learn from the Leaders 2019 ️
