Jacqueline Tani

Los Gatos, CA
Jacqueline Tani

Growing up in the Philippine islands, Jacky spent majority of her time outdoors. Her young sports career began with gymnastics and she continued to compete in high school swimming and tennis with her move to the U.S. Several sports-related injuries later and with college in sight, she took a hiatus from competitive sports and accepted a full academic scholarship. She holds a B.S. in Computer Science and graduated with high honors, magna cum laude. Jacky spent many years in Silicon Valley as a programmer and engineer and later moved on to software sales. In 2010, Jacky discovered Pilates after suffering a significant ACL tear from a skiing accident. A second doctor's opinion offered the possibility of rehabilitation (without surgery) which included Pilates. Intrigued by this new discipline, she pursued the esteemed BASI Comprehensive Teacher Training Course and immersed herself fully (mind, body, and spirit!) over the next several months. A milestone-year: she completed the course, was awarded her certification, and (to the amazement of her knee surgeon!) has experienced a full recovery. Jacky is eager to teach and preach the powers of Pilates, experiencing first-hand its healing powers. An active wife and mother of two teenage boys, she incorporates Pilates into her daily routine to keep her happy, healthy, and sane! Jacky teaches out of her home studio in Los Gatos, CA as well as at Pleasure Point Pilates in Santa Cruz, CA For questions or comments, she can be reached at (650) 740-1416 or via email: Jacky@GotPilates.com

A mover by nature, she started dancing at the young age of two at her mother’s dance studio. There she traveled and competed with dance until she graduated from high school, eventually signing with the Movement Talent Agency, (MTA) a commercial and dance agency based in Los Angeles. After high school Rodrigues attended Loyola Marymount University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with her BA in Dance. During her time at LMU she suffered many injuries from the rigorous curriculum and discovered Pilates as a form of rehabilitation. After realizing how helpful Pilates was to her recovery she decided to continue training in order to work out more efficiently. This led her to become a certified instructor, so she could share the benefit of Pilates with others. For her certification she went through Body Arts and Science International (BASI), one of the most respected Pilates organizations in the world. After college Rodrigues stayed in Los Angeles to dance professionally and teach Pilates. There she had the opportunity to dance with such artists and celebrities such as: Rihanna, Gwyneth Paltrow , the Cast of Modern Family, Wayne Brady, also was a reoccurring dancer on the hit TV series GLEE, danced in the 2008 MTV VMAs, a dancer in DancePlug Commercial, and danced in the premier of the musical, Loving the Silent Tears. She also taught Pilates at some of the more upscale studios and fitness clubs throughout Beverly Hills and Hollywood. Ready to create something of her own and bring her passion for Pilates, dance, and physical fitness back to the Central Valley, the idea of Flow Studios was born. Flow Studios offers an alternative exercise program, understanding the variety of changes that our bodies go through and how difficult it can be to maintain workouts with a busy schedule. Rodrigues uses compassion derived from her own experience with body image insecurities to inspire, motivate, and encourage her clients. Our goal at Flow Studios is to strive for personal best while creating a sense of balance in order to become stronger, healthier, and happier people.

I spent years dancing and learning the human body from using it. Then I received my BA in Dance from CSU Fullerton and decided that anatomy was something I truly understood. I eventually added Pilates' classes to y schedule to keep my body feeling healthy. After years of understanding the benefits I decided to get my Mat work certification from BASI. I loved their attention to detail, their focus on the healing aspect of the movement, and how everyone was so passionate about the work. I have been teaching the BASI block system of Mat work for over three years at UCSD and The Kroc Center; and have had so much joy seeing my clients success. Everyone has their stories of how Pilates' has changed their life and I love being a part of that.

Recently, I took this fabulous mat program onto the stand up  Paddleboard. And found a tremendous benefit to doing the work on the boards. Not only does the challenge increase, but the body is given more information on alignment and symmetry through having to balance on the water.

Andrea has been teaching Pilates since 2005, and has been a BASI faculty member since 2010. As a dancer, she was introduced to mat Pilates at Santa Ana College and apparatus work at Orange Coast College. She then pursued a degree in dance science at Cal State University, Long Beach where she studied with Karen Clippinger. Upon completion of her certification through Body Arts and Sciences International with Rael Isacowitz, she taught for 5 years at On Center Conditioning in Costa Mesa. In 2012, she relocated to Live Life Pilates, owned by fellow BASI faculty member Leah Stewart. Her other certifications include pre and post natal pilates and hoop dance. She also appears as a model in BASI's revolutionary Pilates Interactive software. Andrea's more than 20 years of dance training has helped her develop an eye for technique, an appreciation for beauty and a sound understanding of the benefits of movement. She is extremely proud to be a part of the BASI team and looks forward to offering her knowledge and insight to Pilates students around the world.

Georgia Kissa

Georgia Kissa

Georgia is a graduate of the professional dance academy "Rallou Manou".

Right after her graduation, she started performing with contemporary dance companies, in various festivals and dance platforms. Her passion for contemporary dance, led her in attending workshops with some of the most prominent choreographers of our times, such us Emio Greco and Wim Vandekeybus.

She has worked for many years as a dance teacher (ballet+contemporary dance), working with children and adults, of a wide range of ages.

That previous experience in professional dance, challenged her in exploring the endless possibilities of the human body, through different disciplines. Those pursuits finally led her to the BASI Pilates system.

After finishing her 500 hours teacher training education at NYSY Studio in Athens, Greece, she became more and more involved with the BASI system, as she understood the healing power of Pilates, on an extensively "used" body.

She has attended workshops with Rael Isacowitz, Sheri Long, Kristi Cooper White, Amit Younger, Ellie Herman, Elizabeth Larkam and others, always trying to keep up with the latest developments, while teaching the system for the past five years.

Lianne Gamble

Gig Harbor, WA
Lianne Gamble

Lianne Gamble began her professional dance career at age 17, and danced throughout the US and overseas before suffering injury due to the physical demands of her job. She had encountered Pilates at a young age, while studying ballet, and, frustrated with traditional therapy, she returned to the method in order to rehabilitate her body.

The success of her personal practice of Pilates instilled in her a desire to teach and help others. At the end of her dance career, she began to work closely with a physical therapy team in Las Vegas, which used Pilates for the prevention of injury to dancers and acrobats. As the method caught on in Las Vegas, she began to work as a teacher trainer for the UNLV certification team.

Lianne has taught Pilates throughout the US to individuals and groups, including the Luxor dancers in Las Vegas and the dancers for the 2000 Super Bowl in Atlanta. In 2001 she moved to Gig Harbor, Washington, where she opened her first Pilates studio. Two years later, she opened a second location in University Place, Washington, and in 2009 another location in the Old Town district of Tacoma. She met Rael at a conference in 2005, fell in love with his teaching style, and received her BASI accreditation. A year later she felt the need to have all her instructors accredited by BASI and started hosting BASI teacher training programs at her Gig Harbor studio.

In addition to being a member of the BASI Faculty, Lianne has been certified in Les Mills Body Pump, RPM, Zumba, Pole Fitness and Power Plate. She teaches many workshops, including Pilates for Pregnancy, Myofacial Release on the foam roller, and integrating cardio with Pilates.

Cora Tataru

Hi! I’m Cora Tataru, and I’ve always been a big outdoors lover.

Therefore, although having a totally different background, turning 30 and having my first child made me completely redesign my life, by discovering Pilates and becoming a passionate trainer soon after.

Meanwhile, I enjoyed being a student again with BASI & Natascha Eyber in Munich, attending there the Mat work and then the full CTTC course. Now I’m teaching a variety of Pilates classes from group mat work to private sessions with equipment, building my Pilates business in Romania, helping clients to discover the joy of movement, enjoy the benefits of Pilates for myself while having my 2nd child and least but not last, inspiring and coaching others in their journeys to become Pilates trainers.

Sharing J. Pilates’s view that “Physical fitness is the 1st requisite of happiness” keeps me going on, since you can never tell you know everything about this. And you soon discover it’s not only about physical fitness, but also about mind & spirit. Moreover, helping others fills me with an amazing energy.

As a teacher, I constantly feel the need to improve my knowledge; along with investing in further education, I keep practicing Pilates for myself, but I also experiment & enjoy the diversity of yoga and different fitness programs that help you see the human body from different perspectives.

I’m happy to share all my experience and knowledge with those who wish to receive it, and who also agree that “Physical fitness can neither be acquired by wishful thinking nor by outright purchase.”

Mandy Wright

Originally from South Africa, Mandy came to America in her early twenties looking for inspiration and to find a career where she could help others.  She found that and more when she was introduced to BASI Pilates in 2007.

As a lifelong athlete, Mandy has always participated in sports and shared her love of fitness and a healthy lifestyle with her family and friends. As the mother of three sons, she encouraged an active lifestyle and even joined her boys as they learned Tae Kwando, earning herself a black belt in the process.  Inspired by the teaching, Mandy pursued her own education to become a certified personal trainer and Spin teacher.  Although this active and outdoor life was rewarding, over time, Mandy started to experience recurring back pain which made her question her own exercise routine. With his new awareness, Mandy started a quest to find a workout regime that supported her active lifestyle, while still nourishing her body and supporting her life.

Mandy discovered Pilates, an exercise program where the objective; to be able to train the body to functionally perform the activities we love to do, fit her own beliefs and fed her search for rich daily inspiration and a lifestyle of healthy pain free movement!

Mandy completed her Pilates Training through Body Arts and Science International in 2007 and has never looked back.

Mandy’s gifts, as a teacher, lie in her understanding of movement and her empathy with pain. She has a unique ability to create safe and fun environments where clients can address their personal challenges and work to strengthen their bodies and attain their goals.  With her understanding of the body, Mandy is able to recognize individual imbalances and to effectively communicate movement options and corrections to create flow and control for each of her clients in their own Pilates practices.

Mandy’s mantra is: ‘Do what you love, love what you do, for life.’

Mandy has worked diligently to educate herself and to meet her own goal of truly helping others. Her immersion in the BASI philosophy is one of the areas she acknowledges as an important foundation for her skills and experience today.  She has completed the BASI Mentor and Master Programs not just one, but twice; has studied Pilates for Injuries and Pathologies, Pilates for Men, and Pilates for the Mature client. Mandy is also a NASM certified Personal trainer and a NASM corrective exercise specialist.  She is committed to being the best teacher and trainer she can be in following her passion to move bodies well and into health.

I am a fully qualified Personal Trainer, also specialized in training with pregnant women and new mum`s, with over ten years of professional experience.

Growing up in East Germany, I was raised to be an active child and encouraged to take part in sports and as a teen I was a track and field athlete.

In 2002, I was working in the Biathlon Worldcup, traveling with the athletes, when I decided to form my own business as a Personal Trainer. After numerous clients in Germany, I secured a job working exclusively for a wealthy family in Monaco. It was on that particular job that I met my future husband, Tim. At the end of 2006, we moved to Kenya together and had our two children.

Settled in Kenya, I am dedicated to my business and am enjoying watching it grow. In 2011 I finished my BASI CTTC course with Natascha Eyber in Germany, which added more variety to my business. The same year I opened my exclusive Personal Training and Pilates studio in Karen - Nairobi. For quite a while I only worked with a Reformer and Ladder Barrel, that my husband did build for me. Finally in October 2012 the container from Balanced Body arrived in Kenya and we are now equipped with a Cadillac, 2 Reformers, a Combo chair, ladder and step barrel.

I love my job and could not think of any better way to help people getting fitter, stronger or just leading a better and healthier way of living.

Efi Mavrogianni

Ilisia
Efi Mavrogianni
The path to Pilates is different for everyone. Efi's journey was also unique. She had expressed herself through movement in ballet and began tennis lessons at the early age of 5. Efi was a competitive tennis player for many years. She had been accepted to the University of Iraklion, Crete to study Physics and Mathematics when she was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis. Efi immediately became aware of the integrated nature of the body, it's functions, and that the structural organization of the body influences its ability to function properly. She has always been interested in natural ways of healing and she began researching postural therapies to restore the functional movement in her own body.

Efi discovered that Pilates strengthens the whole body and improves posture, while not compromising the safety of the spine. She had no choice but to give it a try! Efi fell in love with Pilates from the first session. Three years later, after having seen astonishing improvement in her body's ability to move freely once again, she enrolled in Nysy Studios (Athens) to attend the BASI CTTC. She now wanted to learn everything about the method that had helped so much. With Efi's background in dance and tennis, she was also inspired to study anatomy, for which BASI requires as a prerequisite. As soon as Efi completed the course, she began working at Nysy Studios where she continued her Pilates education.

Efi has never missed a chance to deepen her knowledge by repeating the BASI CTTC as a student, by attending workshops, and by taking sessions with her mentors. Efi is very interested in physical therapy, exercise physiology and the therapeutic side of Pilates. She has never stopped being an athlete and approaches Pilates with the same passion to excel. She loves challenging herself by exploring the more advanced repertoire through the Mentor Program, both in Athens and Costa Mesa. Efi loves learning, practicing, and teaching Pilates. She is equally available to every client from beginners to teacher trainees. She always gives her 100%. For Efi, every body has a different story, and every client gives her the opportunity to be a better teacher.

Efi was invited to join the BASI Faculty in 2013, which was a great honor for her. She practices Pilates daily, which keeps her strong and balanced in her mind, body and spirit. In her free time, Efi loves to stay active by walking and hiking. She unwinds by reading books and listening to music.

Maro Stogiannidou

Maro began her physical education at the age of five with classical ballet, continuing with gymnastics and track and field. She then earned her B.A in Psychology at the American College of Greece and a professional diploma in Dance Therapy with France Schott-Billmann. She received two qualifications in the teaching of Hatha Yoga; first with Robert Najemy in Athens, then at the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta, in New York, in 1994.

Still seeking knowledge, she moved to London and studied at the Laban Center for Movement and Dance – a long-standing dream of hers – where she met her first two Pilates teachers, Susanne Lahusen and Peter Curtis, and fell in love with the method completely. In 1997, she was accepted to Alan Herdman’s training course and, after completion, went on to set up Bodyworks West Pilates Studio, in West London. She continued to teach at Alan’s studio as well until 2002, when she moved back to Greece. Opening her own studio in Athens in 2003, she also took on the position of Pilates Consultant for Holmes Place Greece in 2005.

At the Athens Pilates Symposium, in 2008, she attended all of Rael’s workshops. Immediately attracted to his sound, classical and yet very contemporary approach to the method, she decided to take the BASI CTTC and embarked on what has become a wonderful journey of exploring the method in BASI’s unique way.

She is deeply honoured to be joining the BASI Faculty team and believes that, in training the new generation of teachers, she is part of the evolution of the Pilates method.

Maro lives in Athens, Greece with her husband and two children. Along with her Pilates practice she is an avid swimmer and has recently taken up ballet.

She believes that Pilates is much more than a set of exercises. For her it’s about teaching people to be in their bodies in a new, wholesome way that can change their lives.

Michele's enthusiasm for health and fitness was sparked as a very young age. First as a gymnast, and later as a competitive equestrienne, she naturally learned to focus a great deal of attention on strength, flexibility and proper muscle activation. As an adult, however, the passions of her youth led to chronic hip and knee pain. Her search for an effective treatment led her to pilates in 2004. After seven years of pilates practice and self-study, Michele decided to make a drastic career change. Careful research into the various programs offered on the east coast led her to enroll as a BASI student in 2010. Under the uncompromising guidance of Carrie Smith, she received her accreditation in May 2011. Today, Michele runs BodyLogic Pilates, LLC, a private home-based studio located in Potomac, Maryland. One of her greatest satisfactions is the outstanding feedback she gets from clients who say they have tried pilates in the past but are now just "getting it" for the first time. Michele spends the summer months in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware teaching and practicing at Elite PT, an ocean front physical therapy and wellness center specializing in rehabilitation, fitness and performance. Working closely with the therapists at Elite has given Michele an invaluable opportunity to continue learning and applying her pilates training in a clinical environment.

Ashley Caggiano

Ashley Caggiano

Ashley grew up rock climbing, running, and playing field hockey and was drawn to Pilates for its ability to take her training to the next level, even when a running injury temporarily sidelined her from other activities. She fell in love with BASI after experiencing its athleticism and artistry firsthand, and had the privilege of training in Southern California with Rael Isacowitz, Constance Holder, Sarah Bertucelli, Meredith Rodgers, and Kristi Cooper.

After becoming a BASI accredited instructor, Ashley moved to New York to attend Columbia University, where she majored in political science, continuing to teach Pilates part-time, and developing the Clinical Pilates program at BioKinetic Physical Therapy in New York City.

After graduation, she worked as a human rights analyst in Africa, Latin America, and Eastern Europe but found that she was able to make a more immediate and long-lasting impact in the studio, and eventually switched her focus, practicing and teaching Pilates fulltime and doing human rights work on the side.

One of Ashley’s greatest joys has been using Pilates to inspire and reconnect individuals to their bodies so that they can move through their lives with greater ease. Ashley has worked with clients ranging from 9 to 86 years of age and has trained professional athletes, physical therapy patients, dancers, and pre- and post-natal clients. She recently opened a studio, Bespoke Pilates, in Fairfield County, Connecticut, where she specializes in enhancing athletic performance.

When she isn’t teaching, Ashley takes classes in biomechanics and movement, dabbles in trail racing and flying trapeze, and goes on adventures with her husband and daughter. Ashley is thrilled to be a member of the BASI faculty.

Kiera Goetz

Las Vegas, NV
Kiera Goetz

Kiera completed the Pilates Comprehensive Teacher Training Course from Body Arts Science International (BASI) in November 2012. She comes from an early background in gymnastics and ballet. Injuries from those endeavors put her on course for college, although the dancing bug never left her system.

Before thinking about Pilates as a profession, Kiera discovered it as an ideal method of regaining the strength and flexibility that had been lost over years of sitting, hunched over a keyboard at work. This helped bring her back to her original love of movement and an understanding of how Pilates, in the words of Joseph Pilates himself, can truly be a “Return to Life”.

With the shared perspective of both the elite athlete and the person suffering from the modern status quo of inactivity, Kiera is delighted to now be teaching Pilates. Whether you are looking to balance a regimented, physically demanding career with purposeful muscle strength and flexibility training, you are a cubicle dweller in need of a full body workout combined with mental stimulation, or you are somewhere in between – she looks forward to working with you.

Kiera currently works at Bodies by Pilates - http://www.pilatesbypaula.com/

My casual practice turned into my passion which eventually turned into my career. Pilates not only taught me the art of listening to my body, but also created a powerful balance in my mind and body, something that I was unable to find before. I felt so amazed by the profound benefits of Pilates, that the decision to pour my heart into it and make Pilates an integral part of my life seemed very natural to me.

Currently, my life is organized around teaching Pilates at my small private studio. When away from Pilates, I am an avid golfer. I feel truly blessed to do what I love, and to love what I do. Like many teachers, I want to help my students look and feel their best. My students are challenged to safely push their physical and mental boundaries, to feel strength, freedom and confidence in their bodies. I do believe that Pilates instructors change the lives they touch in many ways, and so, I hope to improve the quality of my students’ lives by passing on understanding of Pilates method and inspiring them to carry over the benefits of Pilates into everyday life. I try not to be complacent, as I strongly believe in the importance of continued education. Pilates is an ongoing journey, and I truly enjoy expanding my knowledge by taking educational courses and workshops. Presently, I am preparing for the Pilates Method Alliance certification exam to become a PMA certified Pilates Teacher.

Inga grew up in South Louisiana and is a graduate of both Southeastern Louisiana University & LSU. She earned an Associate’s Degree in Drafting & Design from Southeastern and worked in the architectural field for several years before returning to school. She received a B.A. in Art History then a Masters in Public Administration from LSU. Inga enjoyed dance classes as a teenager and began to develop an interest in fitness and nutrition at a fairly young age. Over the years she tried various forms of exercise in an effort to remain healthy and fit. However, years of working behind a computer as well as enduring long commutes began to take its toll. When she started to develop lower back pain she decided to give Pilates a try. One session was all it took, she was hooked. “When I left the studio after my first session I felt amazing! I felt energized, refreshed and more mentally focused. I also liked that Pilates was more than just exercise and the postural corrections I learned could be incorporated into everyday life completely eliminating the lower back pain.” Inga graduated from the BASI Comprehensive Teacher Training Course in August of 2013 and is certified to teach on all Pilates apparatus. She is currently an instructor at The Pilates Studio in Baton Rouge, LA. “I look forward to continuing to learn more about Pilates and am excited and grateful for the opportunity to teach and share this amazing method with others!”

I\'m a Pilates instructor, teaching privately in Port Washington and Roslyn, New York. Currently I\'m taking my Tennis Performance Trainer certification with the International Tennis Performance Association and want to teach Pilates with an emphasis on tennis performance training, and Pilates for golf fitness and prehab. I\'ve been practicing Pilates for more than twenty years and this past August became (proudly) a BASI accredited instructor. Teaching Pilates with a sports performance focus is enormously rewarding. The BASI repertoire lends itself beautifully to athletes as well as weekend warriors. In addition to teaching Pilates, I\'m a writer, author, and (now, non-practicing) attorney.

Serene Wilken

Serene's love for movement started at an early age. Growing up in the Santa Cruz area, she took dance, ballet and gymnastics starting at age three. It was with gymnastics that she fell in love with the combination of choreography and the full body conditioning elements. Preparing for upcoming meets, the commitment to a healthy and active lifestyle become her routine for ten years. This commitment to health has not left her since; in fact, this was just the beginning of her journey towards an active lifestyle. While working towards her BA in Art History at UCLA, she frequented Pilates Mat and Reformer classes at various Los Angeles studios. With her Pilates practice, she found a significant parallel between the qualities of gymnastics and Pilates. The amount of body awareness, precision and control necessary to execute both forms of exercise reignited her love for movement. After seven years of self-practice, she decided to pursue a career in which she could pass on her love of Pilates to others. She received her certification through Body Arts and Science International (BASI) Pilates Comprehensive Teacher Training Course, founded by Rael Isacowitz. Serene teaches both Mat and Apparatus Pilates to clients of all fitness levels. She is located in Mountain View California, and teaches at her studio U Strive Pilates as well as various Bay Area locations. www.ustrivepilates.com

Moja przygoda z Pilatesem zaczela sie w 2010 roku.

Dokladnie piec lat pozniej wzielam udzial w kursie nauczycielskim BASI Pilates. Byla to pierwsza w Polsce edycja kursu BASI Pilates Mat Program.

W ostatnich latach regularnie uczestniczylam w zajeciach tanca orientalnego, salsy i baletu. Poznalam podstawy tanca towarzyskiego i burleski. Bralam udzial w kilku projektach tanecznych.

Prywatnie jestem mama Tymka i Zoii, specjalistka IT, weganka.

Mekelle Brosnan

I am blessed to live in iconic Bend, Oregon, an avid athletic community. Early on, I knew I wanted my career to be about helping people find confidence and reach their potential through fitness and nutrition. During college, I discovered Pilates and fell in love with its many benefits—including the building of long, lean muscles through graceful exercises. I found in Pilates the exercise I needed to transform my body aesthetically and functionally. Target spots toned quickly, and mobility of my arthritic knee made all of my other athletic pursuits attainable again. I became stronger than my other exercise avenues ever provided.

My Pilates practice through my osteoarthritis, pregnancy, and postpartum recovery taught me firsthand the benefits of Pilates forevery body. I was so inspired by my own transformation and belief in the method that I pursued becoming an instructor myself. Basi Pilates has been a wonderful educator to guide my teaching journey.

Adriana Bore

Adriana Bore was born and raised in Bulgaria. She dabbled with Pilates-inspired workouts while in law school. However, it was not until much later, when she moved to Colorado, had her second child, and was learning to snowboard, that she was re-introduced to Pilates and fell in love with the practice. At first, Pilates was a way to get in shape, develop core strength, rehabilitate shoulder injury, and manage the lingering symptoms of postpartum depression; but it quickly became so much more. After feeling and living what Pilates could do for one’s physical and mental health, she knew she wanted to pay it forward. She was drawn to the BASI approach to Pilates because of its thoughtful emphasis on precision, detail, quality of movement, and flow. Adriana received her Comprehensive Teacher Training Certificate from BASI Pilates at Pilates Denver under Amy de Sa. To Adriana, Pilates is meditation and healing through movement.Adriana lives in Colorado with her husband, two kids, and three dachshunds.

Gene Dalais

Chicago, IL
Gene Dalais

Gene Dalais found Pilates after several years working in the corporate world. Her draw to Pilates was to prevent any pain as a result of hours of sitting at a desk. (I am sure many can relate!) As a result of the way she found Pilates she studied with an interest in helping others rehabilitate and maintain healthy fit bodies.

Gene has always loved movement so much so that she studied dance and choreographyand graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Natal, South Africa. She did a double major and also studied Media and Communications. Gene has worked for large and small corporate companies in South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States. Amidst her more media focused career she never let go of movement wherever she has moved, be it dance, Pilates or running.

With over 21 years of dance experience coupled with her love for Pilates and passion for excellent bio-mechanics, form and alignment she loves to share her love for Pilates with everyone that she can. She is passionate about Pilates and rehabilitation as well as correct alignment to improve movement outside of the studio as well as inside.
