Legacy Program

Legacy is the epitome of BASI Pilates Teacher Training.

This is where the art and science of learning, teaching and doing Pilates come together at the highest level. Primarily taught by BASI founder Rael Isacowitz, this is a personal and life-changing exploration into the higher-level repertoire and teaching nuances of the Pilates Method. Rael generously shares his vast knowledge, accumulated over 4 decades, as he guides this unique and enriching journey.

The Legacy Program consists of 4 individual programs: Mentor, Master I, Master II and Honors. Upon completion of these four programs, the BASI Legacy Certificate is awarded. Legacy is the highest achievement within BASI Pilates. Graduates of this unique, one-of-a-kind educational experience are well-equipped to carry the torch of Pilates for future generations of students and teachers.

Mentor

The first phase of the Legacy Program introduces the Higher Principles while focus is placed on refinement of teaching methodology and the advanced repertoire. This is a great leap forward from the wide array of comprehensive teacher training programs and requires unwavering dedication, commitment and open-mindedness. This is a 3-day learning experience with 18 hours of learning and instruction. Tuition includes a full color course Guidebook, Legacy Binder, celebratory dinner reception, and 2 lunches.
The Mentor is approved by the PMA for 18 CECs.

Pre-requisites: Must have completed a recognized comprehensive Pilates teacher training program and have at least 3 years Pilates teaching experience (2 years teaching experience for those who have completed the BASI comprehensive teacher training program).

Master I

The second phase of the Legacy Program continues the journey with Rael as he draws further attention to teaching, cueing and progression. The primary thrust is the in-depth exploration of master level repertoire that has seldom been part of any formal teacher-training program. This is a 3-day learning experience with 18 hours of learning and instruction. Tuition includes a full color course Guidebook and 3 lunches.

Pre-requisites: Must have completed the Mentor Program.

Master II

The third phase of the Legacy Program embodies Rael's voyage of discovery to the extreme edges of the Pilates repertoire and the creative process. It is solidly based on the repertoire learned in the preceding programs and expands on this repertoire demonstrating progression and growth. This is a 3-day learning experience with 18 hours of learning and instruction. Tuition includes a full color course Guidebook and 3 lunches.

Pre-requisites: Must have completed the Mentor Program and Master I Program.

Honors

This is the fourth and final phase of the Legacy Program. The underlying theme is evolution and preservation, two, seemingly, diametrically opposed concepts. Yet Pilates cannot continue to thrive without both. Rael delves into much of his own creations both in terms of the choreography and the equipment itself. Yet, as always, it is solidly and soundly grounded in the original works and principles of Joseph Pilates, paying homage to the founder and creator of the Pilates Method. This is a 3-day learning experience with 18 hours of learning and instruction. Tuition includes a full color course Guidebook, celebratory dinner reception, 2 lunches, and Legacy Program Certificate of Completion.

Pre-requisites: Must have completed the Mentor Program, Master I Program and Master II Program.
