Adriana Ferrer-Perez is a native of Colombia SA. She holds an MFA in Dance and Choreography from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a BA in Dance Education from the University of Miami in Florida. She has worked for many years in the dance field and in the fitness industry as well as being a certified yoga instructor. Her interest in Pilates began while she was teaching at Gold's Gym in Virginia, where there was a big need to educate people on how to use correct biomechanics and how to avoid injury. Her passion for teaching students to work in a safe and correct manner with their bodies led her to pursue the BASI Pilates program. She graduated from the BASI Comprehensive Teacher Training Course (CTTC) on January of 2007 and has continued with the education by adding on Pilates for Dancers, Pre-post Natal Pilates, the Art of Cueing, and Pilates for Injuries and Pathologies. Adriana is co- owner and director at Balanced BODIES Pilates Studio in Northern Virginia (DC Suburb), which is also a host studio for the BASI CTTC. In addition to working with private clients, she teaches mat and reformer classes as well as yoga. When not doing Pilates, she enjoys long walks, spinning, music and dance.
