Let the Springs Breathe

In this workshop we will make deeper research into understanding how the Pilates equipment works, with breath as a tool and metaphor for creating a relationship between the springs and breathing.

How are you using the springs on the Reformer, Wunda Chair and Cadillac?

Are you pushing? Pulling? How much resistance do you use in a given exercise? Can you find a quality of resistance and level of connection in each exercise where the springs can just breath?

In the workshop we will analyze 12 to 15 different exercises, using the BASI block system as a guideline to address all planes of movement. Following the topic, there will be a lot of time spent on practice, process and analysis, so that learning from and with others, understanding your own habits, understanding individual needs and understanding how the equipment works will be critical.

This workshop premiered in California and Japan in 2016, and had great reviews from participants.
