Find and Fix Movement Faults

Teaching exercises is easy; teaching exercises well and making the right choices really distinguishes an average instructor from a great instructor. Often as a Pilates instructor you’ll look at a movement and realize that something is not effective and there is no improvement over time despite all your efforts and focused energy. What can it be and more importantly, how can you change it and measure progress at the same time? This 3-hour workshop serves as an introduction to identifying common faulty movement patterns and how to correct them by applying simple retraining strategies and an evaluation process on measuring progress. In this workshop you’ll be covering the following:

  • Look at what is considered "normal" movement at a specific joint (neck, shoulder, lower back, hip)

  • Identify faulty movement patterns at these sites

  • Which muscles are responsible and which to focus on

  • Looking at different retraining strategies by selecting exercises you already know in a specific way

This workshop will give you the practical tools to apply to your clients’ program the very next day and measure their current status and progress over time. It will serve as a guideline on making better choices to ensure steady and measurable progress. Let’s find it and fix it!
