In order to receive a BASI Pilates Teaching Credential, ProBridge students complete first the Foundation ProBridge and then the Comprehensive ProBridge program, pass the Comprehensive Written and Practical Exams and the Teaching Evaluation at a Centralized Testing Location. Those who do not go through the testing process may request a Letter of Attendance. Centralized Testing does not apply to programs outside the US.
The ProBridge Programs have been approved for 36 CECs by the PMA. Students must attend both Foundation and Graduate programs to receive CECs.
Students who sign up for both the ProBridge Foundation and the Graduate Programs, at the same time receive a $200 discount on the ProBridge Graduate Program Fee.
The ProBridge Program is open to any Pilates professional whose qualifications are deemed sufficient by BASI Pilates, as well as all graduates of the BASI Comprehensive Program.
Documentation of successful completion of a recognized Pilates teacher training program.* The program must be a minimum of 450 hours, including training on all apparatus. Online training is not acceptable. The previous training must have included a practical assessment of movement and teaching skills. The director of the training program must have had a minimum of ten years teaching Pilates at the time of training.
Upon completion of the program, you will be qualified to:
- Utilize the BASI ® Block System® to design and teach an individual or group session
- Undersand the unique qualities of BASI exercises on all apparatus and Mat
- Prepare for the Probridge Graduate program

ProBridge Foundation Program Structure
DAY 1 – THE FUNDAMENTALS AND PART 1 OF ANATOMY REVIEW
Topics covered will include the Principals of the Pilates method and a brief overview of the importance of the pelvis, breathing, exercise description, analysis and teaching. In addition, review of anatomy, importance of appropriate cueing as well as basic safety topics will all be discussed. Repertoire includes Mat and Reformer. A one-hour mat class will be given. Total of 6 hours class time is provided.
DAY 2 – ANATOMY OVERVIEW PART 2 AND POSTURE ASSESSMENT
Topics covered will include anatomical movement analysis, introduction of the BASI Block System®, format and progressive layering as well as principles of alignment and complete postural assessment. Repertoire includes intermediate to advanced Mat, Reformer and Cadillac. A one-hour mat class will be given. Total of 6 hours class time is provided.
DAY 3 – CORE STRENGTH AND EXERCISE ADAPTATION
Topics covered will include core strength of the back and abdominals including contraindications, effective exercises as well as the teacher’s role in creating “flow” in a session. Discussion on the correct use of modifications and assists and construction of complete and effective programs. Repertoire includes intermediate to advanced Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair and the Avalon® Chair. A one-hour mat class will be given. Total of 6 hours class time is provided.
