The course provided incredible insight into movement. As with most fitness courses these days, it probably could be of greater value if spread out longer to really understand the content, which requires in depth study.

    The material is good.

The material is good. Presentation in handouts is poor and there is to much difference between various handouts and the current version. This leads to confusion in names of exercises and series etc for the learners. Exercises are well demonstrated. There is no support or guidance on how to actually teach though. This is missing form the course.

I really enjoyed taking this course...

I really enjoyed taking this course and am looking forward to getting certified. There are a couple of things I would like to mention:

I would have liked to have a bit more information on how to build and teach group and private classes.

I use Pilates Interactive frequently for obsertion as well as follow up/study for individual moves. I feel it is in need of updating and would like to see more classes.

Ed and all the teachers are amazing examples. Proud bearers of the BASI flag

Did the Body Control Pilates course a few years ago and this was a far better approach, more comprehensive and lots of tests along the way
Thank you for Pilates Interactive and Pilates Anytime

Great staff and they were always available, knowledgeable, respectful.

I thought the course was wonderful. I enjoyed the commitment to classical origins and contemporary scientific interpretations. loved reading the workbook material with its understanding of sports science and integration of this into the Pilates system. Great staff and they were always available, knowledgeable, respectful. In terms of improvement, I felt there was an awful lot of repertoire to learn, especially for a beginner. more modules would be better, but I understand scheduling and cost considerations. It may also be easier to break modules into equipment eg. module 3-5, reformer, module 5-6, Cadillac, More anatomy would be useful. Finally , I did think that the muscle focus was the only thing that was inconsistent with the general "thinking" approach of the whole course. Particularly in exam questions (where I got a few incorrect!) I feel it is too simplistic to define a complex movement for example as "abdominals." I think 3 to 5 answers should be acceptable, and would recognise the complex nature of any movement. overall it was terrific. :)

I absolutely loved being taken through the Modules by 3 different teacher trainers. It was so valuable to learn from varied styles of teaching, but each with such incredible knowledge, experience and attention to detail. I feel very privileged to have had Theo, Inge and Ashleigh to learn from.

I feel that it has been worth every penny.

The quality of the teaching and the amount we learnt for the price of the course was really great. I feel that it has been worth every penny . just me personally I would have prefer to spread the course out over four days and have slightly shorter days as they were very long days and to absorb important details at the end of the day I found a bit hard but apart from that everything else was great , I am really happy that I chose basi !

Absolutely fantastic and in depth course, I loved every minute of it!

Absolutely fantastic and in depth course, I loved every minute of it! It would have been really great to have a bit more time, given the amount of repertoire required, and some more contact with Basi faculty (Joleen and Jordanna were really great with emails but it would have been good to have some classes or practise sessions between the prac exams so we could get corrections with Basi staff on the exercises more regularly. But I understand that this is really difficult given the lack of Basi trained instructors in Melbourne!!)

It would have also been great to do a bit more on posture assessment, and maybe even have that as part of the exams, as it's such an important part of developing a comprehensive program for a client. I understand the theory of it but haven't had the opportunity to put it into practise much.

The course is well laid out and we were lucky to get the latest course materials

The course is well laid out and we were lucky to get the latest course materials (books). Working with the Avalon was interesting, but with only one machine and lots to learn on it, that was the only drawback (we didn't get as much time to practice the exercises, knowing that we could be tested on it the very next day!)

The faculty were wonderful, energetic and inspiring to be with.

The course was great, however another few half days with Faculty to practice the material and gain information would have been an excellent help. Also the covers of the books rip off over time which is a shame,as we want to have these books for a long time.
The faculty were wonderful, energetic and inspiring to be with.I do hope that Basi can organise more workshops for us here in Australia in the future.

    Materials are very helpful.

Materials are very helpful; some binders are a bit outdated and the exercises contradict each other from one manual to another. Amy did a great job explaining the differences though.
