2014 Kathy Grant Memorial Scholarship Recipients Announced

by Stella Hull-Lampkin

It is hard to believe that we started offering scholarships three years ago. The program was a dream of BASI Founder, Rael Isacowitz. Kathy Grant was a close friend and collaborator of BASI Pilates as well as an honorary member of the BASI Pilates Faculty. “Kathy was a true guide and mentor,” Rael said. “She helped me establish BASI Pilates, today a leading Pilates education organization.”

Since its inception in 2011, we have received over 200 applications for the Comprehensive and Mentor Program Scholarships. The scholarship was designed to assist with tuition by either partial (CTTC) or full (Mentor Program). Each year the decision gets more and more difficult, as we share the personal and professional journeys of each applicant.

Once an application is received and completed it goes through several rounds of reviews. They are graded on their essay and letters of recommendation. The final phase is an interview to get to know the prospective candidate better followed by another meeting of the committee for final decision.

Congratulations to the 2014 Kathy Grant Memorial Scholarship Recipients!
