Amy de Sa, CPT has been a dedicated teacher of Pilates since 1995. She holds a B.A. in Dance and a B.A. in Psychology from Hope College, Michigan. As a professional dancer and movement therapy enthusiast, Amy connected instantly with Pilates and appreciated its numerous benefits to people of all ages, genders and fitness levels. She has taught the BASI Pilates Teacher Training courses in the U.S., Japan, China, Australia, South Korea and Argentina. Amy began her Pilates career in 1995 in Chicago, where she completed a previous certification and managed a well-known Pilates studio. Continued immersion in Pilates led her to Body Arts and Science International, where she was instantly attracted to the BASI philosophy, methodology and approach to teaching. She is a proud graduate of the BASI Pilates Comprehensive Teacher Training Program and continues to widen her education through Advanced Education Courses with Rael Isacowitz and other members of the BASI Faculty as well as with the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA). She is also a Certified Pilates Teacher by the PMA.
Amy is the owner of Pilates Denver Studio in Colorado, which she opened in 2001 and where she hosts the BASI courses. She has also been the subject for two front-page articles in the Rocky Mountain News Newspaper in Denver, CO, has been a guest teacher in Pilates for the dance department at Unicamp University in Brazil, was a presenter at the South American Pilates Conference in Brasilia, Brazil and will be a mat class presenter at the 2015 annual PMA conference. She truly enjoys learning, sharing, educating and inspiring others with the beauty and benefits of Pilates.
